The Unite States half cents that were minted where primarily in use from 1793 to 1857. If you were to look at the world, economy and wages today one half cent would seem like a very small amount of money that would not mean a great deal to the way our money works at this time but it was primarily important from 1793-1857 because of the fact that many individuals where only making one dollar for every ten hours of work approximately. There were individuals that made more than that or less, but it was a denomination that was important for being able to be paid for the work a person was able to do or supply to another.
There were five primary designs in addition to privately used token coins. The five designs were capped bust, draped bust, braided hair, Along with two other where the primary difference is the way that the face us turned.
